Description

Reform & Modernization in Britain (18th & 19th centuries)

During the second year of the Licence, we look back to the long eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. This long timeframe is examined as a time of origins and transitions, of contradictions and conflict during which Britain dealt with reform and modernization, and British society created itself anew. The chronological span will be from c. 1688 to 1918, but this may vary according to the topic and the precise focus of the lecturers.
